REI Trail Maintenance Workshop
Novice and new trail workers are invited to join us for a workshop, which will provide you with a combination of classroom and field introductory training. Learn about trails, as they exist today and how you can help preserve them for your enjoyment and that of future generations. The classroom session will be held at REI on 2/27/2008 starting at 6:30PM and lasting approximately 1.5 hours. The field session will be held on the Hawk Watch Trail in the Sandia Mountain Wilderness on 3/1/2008. You will need appropriate clothing, work gloves, and a sack lunch for the field session. The hike in to the work area will be approximately 1 mile. You may work part of the day or all day. There is a strict 25-person limit and we will be carpooling to the site on the workday due to limited parking. Because of the strict limit, you MUST sign up through REI. Sign-ups will start towards the end of January and there will be no exceptions.
